Feeling Stuck: How to Handle Overlapping Job Offers and Misunderstandings in Employment Records?

Hi Everyone,

I've been working at a Tech Company E for the last 1.8 years. Before that, I was employed at Company C. During the transition, I received an offer from Company D. Initially, they mentioned they would offer WFH, but it turned out not to be true. Another interview was ongoing with Company D. I joined there on 9/3/22. From Company C, everything was already processed, and after a couple of show-cause emails, I received a termination letter and F&F dated 11/3/22. I received an offer from D on 16/2/22 and from C on 11/2/22.

Now, after all this time, D contacted me regarding the overlapping 2-day period. They insisted I resign with proper F&F. I hadn't informed D about C, as I never worked there or joined. However, it's showing in the PF service, and I couldn't do much except holding a termination letter from C.

I am very upset about this situation and my unfortunate misunderstanding. I'm not in a clear state of mind. Please suggest something:

- If I can join Company E, F, or any other in the future.
- If I can email C to change the DOE from 11/3/22 to a date before 9/3/22.
- If I can email C for a relieving letter.
- If I can omit C from my resume (I never worked there, nor joined physically or virtually - just accepted the offer)...

Please advise me; I would appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks.

Rectification

I was in Company E. The overlap is between Company D (DOE 11/3/22) and E (DOJ 9/3/22).

Quite simple. If you don't join Company C, meaning you didn't log in or make any physical presence, then you need to directly approach Company C. You must convince them, negotiate, and obtain clearance certificates stating that you didn't join, even though a PF was created. This is your safe zone.

You need that letter from Company C; without it, you can't move to further companies. This issue will follow you. After you get that letter, you can later apply with the labor officer. That's enough.

Company C's acknowledgment letter is a must for this PF issue.

I wonder how your PF account was created in Company C without you having joined them. An offer letter can never be assumed to be an appointment letter. You should approach Company C formally in writing and get this sorted.
