I joined a company and worked for 2 months before absconding, which led to the creation of my PF account. Subsequently, I joined an MNC as a fresher. My background verification (BGV) did not fail, and I now have 1.5 years of experience in this MNC. I am considering switching jobs. Will my BGV fail due to the brief employment at the previous company where I worked for 2 months?

Additionally, I have the option to mark the exit date. Should I proceed with marking it? Please provide suggestions on what steps to take.

Background Verification Concerns

Whether your background verification would fail or pass is a question to be asked to the employer concerned. I would say that the agencies conducting the background verification have no right to act as detectives and read between the lines. If you have had a short service period, such as two months, that you prefer not to include in your CV, why should they uncover and highlight it as a serious issue? In many cases, the employer may already be aware of such brief employments, but they may only become a focal point if the employee-employer relationship becomes strained.

I can mark the exit date, but the thing is, I won't mention 2 months of experience on my resume. They will check through the UAN portal and inquire about that past company. However, I don't have an experience letter for that. Any suggestions on what to do? Will my BGV fail because of this?

Handling Short Employment Gaps in HR

It is known to all HR professionals that for a service of two months, nobody will give you any service or experience certificate. Therefore, even if the HR asks about the gap of two months, you can say that you had joined an organization but had to leave it in two months. Since that company did not have the practice of giving service certificates to those who leave in the probation period, I was not given any certificate. If the HR is not convinced with the reply, NEVER join that company because the HR person will trouble you always by asking for a two-month certificate whenever he gets an 'opportunity'.
