Concerned About Name Mismatch in EPFO? How to Handle Pending Name Change Before Joining a New Job

I have applied for a name correction in my EPFO account online, but it is still pending at the field office. It has not been approved yet. Currently, my name is registered as Dinesh in the UAN account. I have requested the change to be made to Dinesh Kumar, and I have also updated it in my Aadhar card.

Next week, I am joining a new company. Will the company be able to create a new PF account under the name Dinesh Kumar, considering that my name is currently registered as Dinesh in UAN? Will this potentially lead to any name mismatch errors? I am concerned that this issue might cause problems when joining the new company.

If the employer has approved the name change, it should automatically be reflected in the portal. Why it is still pending is not understood. When you join the new company, they may face difficulty in creating a member ID with the same UAN but a different name. Therefore, please get it corrected before moving by personally visiting the EPFO office.
