Stuck with Old PF Account Due to Name Mismatch: How Can I Transfer or Withdraw Funds Now?

santhosh4393672
Sir, my name is Santhosh. I have been working in a private company for 11.5 years, and later, I joined a PSU company. When I joined the new company, my old PF account was not transferred due to a name mismatch. I submitted a joint declaration for the name change through my old company 12 months ago, but my name has not been updated as per Aadhar.

What should I do now to transfer or withdraw the money? I cannot change my name in Aadhar as I have already used my two options for name change in UIDAI.

Since your name has not been updated in your old PF account due to a mismatch, and you are unable to change it on your Aadhar card, here are steps you can take to resolve the issue and facilitate the transfer or withdrawal of your money:

- Contact EPFO: Reach out to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to inform them about the name mismatch issue in your old PF account. Provide them with all the necessary details and documentation regarding your situation.

- Submit Required Documents: Prepare and submit all the essential documents, such as your Aadhar card, PAN card, and any other identification proofs, to support the name change request in your PF account.

- Follow-Up with Old Company: Follow up with your old company's HR department to ensure they are actively working on resolving the name change discrepancy with the EPFO.

- Escalate the Issue: If there is no progress after following up with your old company and EPFO, consider escalating the matter by contacting higher authorities within the EPFO or seeking assistance from a legal advisor specializing in labor laws.

- Check Online Portal: Regularly monitor the EPFO's online portal to see if any updates have been made regarding the name change in your PF account.

By diligently following these steps and staying proactive in resolving the name mismatch issue, you can increase the chances of successfully transferring or withdrawing the funds from your old PF account.
