Facing PF Transfer Rejection Due to Wage and Name Issues: What Should I Do Now?

abhinav-thapper
Hi, I had submitted a request to transfer my PF from my previous company to the current one. Recently, it got rejected, and the reasons stated were:

1) Higher wages: Please clarify why EPS service?
2) Father's name differs.

I have no idea what to do now; any help would be appreciated.

P.S: My old company doesn't exist now; it was merged with another entity.

Fill out the Joint Declaration Form and submit it to the PF Office. Contact your present company's HR for assistance.

The old company should have contributed 8.33% and 3.67% of your salary to the Pension Fund and Provident Fund, respectively, instead of 12% to the Provident Fund alone. That is why this question is asked. If that old company was your first company and you joined after 1st September 2014, with a PF qualifying salary of more than Rs 15,000, the employer should not have bifurcated the contribution payable by him. Now you can give a clarification to this through the previous employer as to why this happened. Obviously, it should be due to oversight, and that can be mentioned in the letter. Simultaneously, you can send a joint declaration for correcting the name of your father in the PF records.

Merger will not make any difference because even after the merger, the old company PF will be active, and the employer can approve the updates made by the employees using his digital signature. Any clarifications required as above shall also be given on the old company's letterhead.
