Feeling Trapped in a Disorganized Job: Can My Employer Really Threaten Legal Action?

VB@1234
Hi Everyone, I want to leave this job as it is very disorganized, and my employer is overburdening me. I have informed him about the family reasons and politely conveyed that due to these reasons, I won't be able to work for some time. I asked him if he would consider temporary hiring, but he is now threatening to send a legal notice. He is demanding that I serve a 30-day notice period or provide him with two months' salary for his losses. I joined in May and worked until July. Towards the end of July and in August, I was preoccupied, so I expressed my desire to discontinue.

Please advise if he can pursue any legal action against me. He has also terminated several employees abruptly, instructing them to seek alternative employment.

Please assist me. This is a Gurgaon-based company.

Employer's Threats and Legal Concerns

My employer is threatening me with legal consequences. To avoid this, he insists that I either serve a 30-day notice or pay him two months' salary.

Please take a few minutes to review my appointment letter and let me know if there is anything he can legally do to me.

Hi, as already suggested in another thread, try to complete the one-month notice period. As a last resort, you may consider absconding, but it is not advisable.
