Performance appraisal will be based on the performance of the individual and also based on the performance of the company for the period under review. While there is nothing wrong in sharing your expectation you should also accept the feedback of your Superior and the % of increment decided for you by your Superior.
Percentage of hike depends on the nature of industry. 10 % to 20 % may be realistic expectation but depends on the Industry it might vary.
