Worried About Background Check? How to Handle Unlisted Experience Showing Up

Andij
Hi, I had a one-month experience in X core company during my education timeline, and now I am working in Y IT company with 4 years of experience. I am now moving to Z company, and I have only included my experience from company Y on my resume. However, during the background verification of Z company, both my services at X and Y are showing up in the PF. Will this impact my background verification now, and do I need to inform HR about this? Thank you.

Hi, it depends on the employer. Being one month, it won't be a big issue, but be ready with a justifying reason in case of any questions by the Z Company.

Yes, as of now, they haven't. Should I let them know from my end first to get clarification before joining?

Since you didn't mention it initially, it's better to remain silent on it. If asked, have your explanation ready; it should be convincing enough. Was it a one-month assignment? Otherwise, you need to be prepared to explain why you left so quickly.

Upon completing my one-month job after graduating from my lower education program, I began working at Company Y. During the hiring process, I focused on my higher education and recent experience at Company Y, so I did not mention my previous experience at Company X. The work experience at Company X is more aligned with my lower education background, rather than my current focus on higher education.
