Facing EPF Arrears Upload Error: How Do I Resolve UAN Issues?

This is to bring to your kind notice that we have to file EPF arrears for some employees in our organization. For statutory audit, it is required to file EPF monthly arrears. We need to file arrears from January 2022 to July 2022. We attempted to file the arrears month-wise, but encountered an error while uploading the arrear file. The error message clearly stated that "UAN does not exist, or the member has not yet joined, or the member has already exited."

Kindly suggest what I should do in this situation.

Cross-Check Contribution Data

Verify the EPF contribution data for the specified arrear period. Ensure that the contributions were deducted from the employees' salaries and deposited with the EPFO accurately and on time.

Consult EPFO Helpdesk

If you are still facing issues with filing the arrear, you can reach out to the EPFO's helpdesk for assistance. They can guide you on how to resolve specific errors and technical issues related to the EPF arrear filing.

Reconciliation

Conduct a thorough reconciliation of EPF contributions for the arrear period to identify any discrepancies or missing data. This will help ensure that all contributions are accurately reflected in the EPF records.
