How Can I Recover Lost Pay Due to Attendance Issues After Resignation?

veena-kadappanavar
My last employer deducted the loss of pay in the full and final settlement, citing that I had not filled in the attendance for the deducted number of days, even though I had worked on all these days.

Our office supports work from home, and I worked from home on these days. When I inquired with HR, I was informed that it was mentioned in the resignation dos and don'ts email, stating that I should fill out all the attendance in the system before leaving. The missing attendance covers the entire period of 5 months from January to May.

Is there any way I can recover the loss of pay from my old employer?

If you failed to mark attendance, it is a fault on your side, and the employer cannot be held responsible. However, if you have an email supporting that you were given permission to work from home during these days, you can try to convince HR with a request, explaining that it was due to oversight that you failed to mark attendance, and ask if the same might be condoned.
