Immediate Resignation and Notice Period Concerns
The issue is like this. The thread starter submitted his resignation, and immediately, his reporting officer relieved him without considering the notice period. However, the thread starter thought he would have one month's time to be relieved, as he was ready to serve the notice period. He asks if this will cause any problems in the future.
As Lakshmi Narayan has mentioned, it should not cause any problems as long as there is no deduction made for the shortfall in the notice period. However, his concern is about the company potentially turning hostile and marking 'not served notice period' in any background verification. I would say that this possibility cannot be ruled out. Unfortunately, there is no other way. Demanding notice pay from the employer, as suggested by Sandip Kolte, might create issues in the future. If you request that, your relationship with the employer could be damaged, which may affect your career to some extent. Moreover, unless your resignation included a declaration stating, "I am submitting my notice as per clause ....of the contract of employment .........and I may be relieved on......(that future date)," the notice period from your side will not be considered. Therefore, assume that you have been relieved.
