Absconded from a Job and Now Need a Relieving Letter: How Should I Handle This During BGV?

OmkarK
My previous employer, from whom I absconded 3 years ago due to personal reasons, has agreed to provide me with a relieving letter after I pay in lieu of the notice period. I agreed to pay because it was my mistake to abscond, and I am quite helpless in this situation if they don't give me a relieving letter. I haven't mentioned this employment to my new employer.

What should I do in this situation as my BGV is ongoing? What should I do?

Hi, when you are sure of getting a relieving order from a past employer, why would you want to hide past employment? Lately, we have been noticing many similar questions like this. How prospective employers will respond to it depends on many criteria, and we cannot comment on it. In general, employers will view it as a negative aspect only.

Looks like you are having second thoughts about paying for the notice period. If the previous employer agrees to give you a relieving order, then you may seriously consider it. Otherwise, this will remain a black spot on your career graph and may have adverse consequences.
