What Does "Referred" Mean in My Case Status After an Arrest? Seeking Clarity

Hi, I have been arrested in a case and an FIR has been filed against me. The current status of the case is showing as "referred." Could you please explain in detail what is meant by "referred"?
Thanks

Referred in a Criminal Case

Referred in a criminal case means that the matter is referred for investigation by the police. This typically occurs when a criminal complaint is lodged directly before the court, and the court has ordered a police report while keeping you in custody.
