Hi, I have been arrested in a case and a FIR has been filed against me. The current status of the case is showing as "referred." Could you please explain in detail what is meant by "referred"?
I think Sid has now closed the companion forums such as Cite Legal, Cite Operations, et al. There may be other more appropriate legal forums for the OP to post in.
Referred in a criminal case means that the matter is referred for investigation by the police. This would have been a case of a criminal complaint lodged directly before the Court, and the court has ordered a Police report while keeping you in custody.
