Site in charge has made 7.30 pm mandatory - timing in the construction industry as per law?!

Hi, I am working in a construction company. Previously, our hours were 8.30-9.00 am to 6.00 pm; now, the site in charge has made 7.30 pm mandatory. Would anyone clarify the timing in the construction industry as per law?!

As per law, you can not ask an employee to work for more than 8 hours in a day. At the same time, if the break in between is more considering the scorching sun/ weather conditions, you can extend it so that the spread over including the intervals is not more than 10 hours and 30 minutes.

As per the Act actual working timing is 8 hours which is excluding the rest hours & lunch. Also they shall be provided weekly holidays. Anything exceeding 8 hours per day or 48 hours a week will attract OT
