Can We Accept a Summer Intern Without a College Request Letter? Seeking Advice

Dear Senior Citizens,

A college student wants to join us for a summer internship, but he is saying the college will not provide a request letter for the summer internship, so he will apply individually. Can we allow him to participate in the internship? Please advise on this matter with a sample format. (Cycle of Summer Internship)

Hi, In the normal course of an internship, the student has to apply with a certified letter from the college only. If they are unable to obtain a letter through the college, you may consider accepting them directly, provided the internship period is a couple of months and not longer. If the internship period exceeds that timeframe without a letter from the college, as an employer, statutory obligations need to be addressed.
