Employment Verification - as a revert we are being asked for the joinee's CTC and designation. Is it correct?

We emailed for New joinee's Employment verification to their previous company. However, as a revert we are being asked for the joinee's CTC and designation. Is it correct? what will be the professional way to decline the questions and asking for comments on verification??? Please suggest ASAP...

Good Morning - this is with reference to your aforesaid post, to avoid such questions we outsource the employment verification process, so that the third party vendor/ partner don't have such information's to answer and accordingly they refused.

Also, you may request to such companies that due to your company data protection policy you are unable to share your co-workers personal and professional information's as it treated as violation.
