If someone dies after 4 months of joining, will his nominee receive any benefits from EPF, EDLI, ESIC, and LWF?

As per the PF Act of 1952, nominees are entitled to receive EDLI benefits, a pension in accordance with the Employees' Pension Scheme, regular monthly compensation as per the ESI Act, and benefits from the Labour Welfare Fund as per the respective state law.

Thank you.

Only if he dies on the job will he get all the benefits.

Yes, his family will be eligible for all these statutory benefits. Check whether there is a nomination or not. Thank you.

@Predatoryogesh1, for the death benefits admissible under the EDLI and Pension schemes, the death need not necessarily occur while on the job. It is available for deaths caused not while on duty. However, for receiving Employees' Compensation or compensation under the ESI Act, the death should occur during the course and as a result of employment. The benefits from the labor welfare fund are also similar to those of EPF.
