Facing Suspension and Financial Strain: Can I Resign During a Bank Investigation?

I am a banker and have been suspended from my job since July 27th, 2022, due to fraud in bank personal loans taken by customers. An internal inquiry is currently underway. I am not receiving my proper salary, and it is a very challenging time in terms of financial gain. Can I resign during the internal investigation? The bank has also filed an FIR against the customers. Kindly guide.

It may be pointless to resign as you would be unlikely to get another job easily with this matter at hand. You don't tell us if you did not commit fraud against your employer. If you didn't, then an investigation may prove you innocent, which is the outcome you need to be working towards. Your first action is to initiate a discussion with senior management since you are still employed and being paid. While the investigation is in progress and you have been suspended from service, no bank in the public sector would accept your resignation.
