LPG Storage Rules in Canteens: Is a Manifold System Allowed for Over 100kg?

Manish.kotian@yahoo.com
In the canteen, LPG cylinders with more than 100kg storage are not allowed. If using a manifold system, is it accepted or not? Please suggest.

Dear Manish, If you want to increase storage capacity by 100+, you can absolutely go for a manifold system. However, you will need to obtain approval, licensing, and registration from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO).

The law does not prevent the storage of gas cylinders beyond 100 kg. The law requires that if you have more than 100 kg of LPG, you need to obtain a license from PESO.

Latest Revision on LPG Storage
The latest revision states that you do not need a license for storing gas cylinders that are connected to a manifold complying with the relevant IS standards. If you have a manifold that meets the correct standards in terms of design, specifications, etc., then you don't need a license. Otherwise, you need to acquire a license for storage.
