Is There a Recent Increase in DA? Clarifying Basic Wages for Zone A Positions

Presently, we are paying Rs. 4698/- as DA under the Shop and Establishment Act. Can you please confirm if there has been any increase in the DA? If so, kindly specify from which date we are required to implement the change. Additionally, please provide confirmation regarding the basic wages applicable to different positions in Zone A.

I presume your question is relating to Tamil Nadu and not other states. Unlike many other states, Tamil Nadu follows a pattern of revising the DA every year. The new DA, as applicable to shops and commercial establishments, will be notified soon, and the revised DA shall be paid with effect from 1st April 2023.
