Onboarding Delayed by Six Months: Can I Expect Compensation or Experience Credit?

PlKj
My company delayed my onboarding for six months due to market conditions. According to my initial offer letter, my joining was supposed to be in August 2022. However, they revoked that offer and issued a revised one with a new joining date of March 2023. Will the company provide compensation for the six-month delay? Or will they issue an experience certificate that includes those six months?

Hi, Prior to joining, the employer reserves the right to delay the joining date, and you can't expect compensation or an experience certificate for the delayed period. You were under no compulsion to wait for 6 months until March 2023. Upon your own decision, you chose to wait. Therefore, in case of an abnormal delay, it is advisable to consider pursuing another offer instead of waiting with hope.
