Feeling Stuck at Work: How to Handle No Compensation or Time Off in a Private Company?

lipak-kumar-swain
I have been working in a private company for the last four years, but I am not receiving any compensation or weekly time off. I am not entitled to all this. Even so, no compensation is received from NH/FH&EL.

Dear Lipak-Kumar, this is against the law. Leaves are mandatory as per labor laws, but they may vary from state to state. The Factories Act of 1948 stipulates that each worker or employee who has worked at least 240 days in a calendar year is entitled to 12 working days of paid leave or annual leave. For adult and juvenile employees, paid or earned leave time durations vary (for those under the age of 15 years).

Kindly share the details of the company. I will speak to the District Labour Enforcement Officer/Labour Commissioner regarding the same.
