Understanding EPF Joint Option Eligibility: Are You Affected by the New Supreme Court Ruling?

Greetings from Connect One Dynamic Synergies Private Limited. In compliance with the judgment of the Honorable Supreme Court, the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner has issued the following instructions.

Eligibility for Joint Option under EPF Scheme

Employees and employers who have contributed under paragraph 26(6) of the EPF scheme on salaries exceeding the prevailing wage ceiling of Rs. 5000/- or Rs. 6500/- may submit a joint option under para 11(3) and 11(4) to the respective Regional Office if they meet the following criteria:

I. Employees and employers who have contributed under paragraph 26(6) of the EPF scheme on salaries exceeding the prevailing wage ceiling of Rs. 5000/- or Rs. 6500/-.

II. Did not exercise a joint option under the proviso to Para 11(3) of the pre-amendment scheme (since deleted) while being members of EPS, 95.

III. Were members before 01.09.2014 and continue to be members on or after 01.09.2014.
