Is It Fair to Deduct My Casual Leave Due to Last Year's Mistake? Let's Discuss

Bertha
Our Casual Leave begins in January. When I applied for half-day casual leave on 11.02.2023, I received the leave form which stated I have used 1 day of CL, which I have not. Upon checking, the Time Office clerk mentioned that last year, i.e., 2022, they made a mistake; hence, they deducted 1 day of my CL. Is this right? They never informed me earlier.

Please check if you had taken one CL extra than what is permitted last year. If yes, drop it. It is true that the Personnel Officer/time office person should have informed you that your CL for this year is credited by one CL less than what is eligible. These are simple errors, don't take it forward but drop it.

The last year's CL cannot be adjusted against this year's account. Don't be satisfied with their explanation; ask for details and check your records. If you are not satisfied with it, agitate the matter further as it is improper.
