Left Job in 3 Days Due to Emergency: How to Handle EPFO Exit Date Issues?

puneet-naik
Hello Everyone, Kindly help me with this regard. I recently joined a company "XYZ" and absconded in 3 days as I had to drop out due to a family emergency and issue. My UAN service history is showing that I am added as a member of the company and there is a joining date mentioned. As I tried to mark the exit date via the EPFO member portal, it did not allow me to do the needful as there are no contributions, and it mentioned contacting the employer. It's understandable I won't be getting contributions in that account as I have left the firm within 3 days.

My concerns are:

1) Will I be able to join a new company with no exit date marked on my account?
2) Can the employer mark the exit date without any contributions? I am sure they cannot delete it now as the date of joining is already fed.

Please help, Guys.

Hi, XTZ Employer should mark the exit date. As you had absconded, they might mark the exit after following the disciplinary process.

Your employer is supposed to process 3 days' salary and credit 3 days' PF into your PF account. You need to wait until the month-end salary cycle, after which they might process and credit.

Hi, The employee can mark the DOE in PF; however, request the employer to mark the DOE. Otherwise, you may delete the service by using the member transfer option before checking the PF passbook contributions made in that service.

Hi, can you tell me what happens after that? Do potential employers have the ability to view the 3-day employment history on the EPFO portal even if I haven't closed or transferred it?
