Navigating Notice Periods: Can I Start a New Job Abroad Before My Layoff Ends?

Hello, I am currently on a notice period. The notice period was issued by the employer and can be seen as a layoff. I am not working on any projects and am also not going to the office. I am getting an opportunity to work outside India, and they would want me to join rather quickly. Can I join the new foreign employer during this time? Please advise.
