Navigating Job Offers: Should I Disclose My Brief 17-Day Work Experience to My New Employer?

Hello, I am a recent graduate, and I received an on-campus offer from a big MNC. I waited for a long time, and it's been a year without any response regarding my joining. Therefore, I pursued off-campus job opportunities, and fortunately, I received an offer from another company with a comparatively lower package than the previous offer. Considering the current situation, I decided to join the new company. Within 17 days of joining, I received communication from the MNC regarding my joining. As the new company had no bond or strict regulations, I resigned and completed all the exit formalities. I have evidence of my resignation being accepted by my manager, the exit declaration document, and the email confirming the completion of exit formalities from HR.

Now, as I am joining the MNC as a fresher, I am unsure whether I should disclose my previous 17 days of work experience and other details. I am concerned that if I do disclose this information, they may request my relieving letter. If I choose not to disclose it, I am uncertain if they could discover my work experience through other means. It is worth noting that my PF account has not been created yet since I left the previous company early.

I appreciate your insights on this matter. Thank you in advance.

You have to be sure about PF, as PF membership starts from day one of employment. If they are showing that salary was paid, however small the amount may be, they have to show PF deduction and account for it. They are not likely to take risks unless there is a clear understanding of this. It's better to talk to the previous employer and get clarity on PF coverage before making a decision.
