What should an employer do if an employee refuses to return to the workplace after a 6-month notice period (which was mentioned in a letter format before shifting to WFH mode)?
Hi, First, issue a letter asking the employee to report back to the office. Set a deadline date for their return. If there is no response, deny server/remote access for the employee and hold their salary. Send further communication regarding the return of office systems and other belongings. The employee will respond for sure.
Do you have documentary proof where you asked him to commence work from the office and his refusal? If yes, then issue him a show-cause notice. Block his office ID. Based on his response or lack of it, proceed.
