I need help. I joined a company on 30 May 2022 virtually and left on 3 June 2022 after informing the manager on a call and explaining why I could not continue. He understood my situation. I never went to the office and did not receive any ID card, laptop, or other assets.
I never shared any signed appointment letter or any signed document with the employer. My salary account was not opened. During the offer release, I shared payslips, UAN number, PAN card, Aadhar details, and accepted the offer via email. I left the company due to personal reasons and the conditions mentioned in the appointment letter. I received the appointment letter on my personal email on 3 July after I emailed HR and the manager.
During this period, I communicated 1-2 times with my manager from my personal email about not being able to come to the office due to personal reasons.
I joined another company on 6 June and hid these details from my current employer.
On 7 June, I received a call from HR to send an email about my resignation.
On the same day, I informed HR and the manager by sending an email from my personal email. After sending the email, I got a call from HR and explained the situation, which she understood.
A few days later, I received a call about exit formalities. I explained that I was not seeking any salary or benefits. She mentioned that the backend team might mark me as absconded, but I heard nothing further.
Later, I observed that the employer created the EPF and transferred amounts for 2 days in May and 7 days in June, with no further transactions. A few months later, I noticed in the 26AS form that they mentioned paying me a salary for May and June, but I did not receive any salary. The amount for May seemed more than a month's salary if divided by 12, and June also showed a higher amount. However, I did not receive any salary.
Please help me handle the ITR properly. I have not contacted the company since. Should I reconnect with the employer to correct the information, as I did not receive any salary, and they mentioned an excess amount (about 5-6 times the salary details in the offer letter) in 26AS, which was supposed to be paid as per the offer letter for the days I was there?
