Didn't Join the Company, But Now My EPF Is Linked to Them—How Can I Fix This?

I was supposed to join a company on a specified date; however, due to location constraints, I changed my decision to join the company and informed the recruiter that I wouldn't be joining on the scheduled day. However, the company had already created my employee ID a day before. Now, the company is treating my case as absconding from service and has linked their EPF account with my UAN number. I had a discussion about the employee ID creation with the recruiter, and he mentioned that the employee ID would be automatically deleted through the system (this conversation took place over the phone).

The company has sent two notices to my address regarding not reporting to the office and eventually sent a termination letter. They have also credited half a month's salary to my account, which I have requested them to take back via email. Unfortunately, they are not responding to my emails when inquiring about the status. I am seeking advice on how to remove the entry of this company from my UAN history.

Hi, It is very strange to note the above. The normal process is that after the joining of the employee, only HR will process the employee number and PF number. After the month-end salary process, the newly created PF number will be seeded along with your UAN. What is even more strange is that the company credited half a month's salary to your bank account before joining.

As they have already seeded their PF number against your UAN, you can't do anything. After the termination process, they will mark the exit date, and automatically that will come to an end.

I suggest you send a legal notice to the company through an advocate for their actions and keep it for your records. Otherwise, no wonder tomorrow they may lodge a complaint against you for not submitting company documents or something like that.

I don't think they will mark the exit date. I have the option to mark the end date after two months from the last. I am planning to take legal action for my issue. However, I am considering sending an email to the HR head and other concerned individuals. I have sufficient proof that I never joined the organization. They have also prepared the FnF document in which they are requesting notice period recoveries.
