A party has filed a case against me under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Section 138. I have paid the money they demanded upon receiving the summons from the court. Currently, the status of the case on the eCourt website is "CASE DISPOSED AS WITHDRAWN."

Now, my question is, does this come under background verification done by private companies or government jobs?

While the status is that there is no case pending against you now, if the query is, "Whether any criminal/civil case has been instituted against you," the reply has to be in the affirmative. The matter is likely to surface if the background verification is properly done. A cheque bounce case is not considered a serious infirmity against the character of the candidate, but you should be ready to give a convincing reply with proof to explain your conduct in this regard.
