Hi, I am working on a third-party 1-year contract. We have 1 month's notice period. But an employer can lay off any employee without any prior information. We just worked for 3 months and was laid off immediately. Is it legal to have 1 month notice period for a 1-year contract in which we only worked for 3 months and have been laid off?

This is part of the contract regarding the notice period.

Your contract may be terminated by the client or employer by giving the employee a 2-week notice in writing or immediately without any penalty payments on completion of the assignment as notified by Induspect or its client.

The Employer shall have the right but not the obligation to terminate your Agreement by summary notice in writing to you if you are incapacitated from rendering the services hereunder on the days the Employer requires the services hereunder or if you commit a material breach of any obligation set out in your Agreement or commit any act or omission which prejudices the assignment or at any time by providing you with 48 hours prior written notice. If your Agreement is terminated under your paragraph, the Employer's liability to you shall be limited to the payment of fees and expenses payable under your Agreement in respect of services provided by you up to the date of termination. Your contract may be terminated by the employee by giving 1 month of writing to the employer. In case the 1-month notice is not given to the employer, the employer shall unconditionally deduct the payment of 1 month from employee's salary.
