An organization must fulfill the following requirements in order to use the ISO 41001 certification process:
1. To exist alone and not as a component of a bigger business or organization;
2. Own individual bank accounts; and
3. Possess the necessary financial means (at least $3 million) to operate as a freelance facilities manager.
The ISO 41001 certification is obtained by proving that the organization has complied with the standard's requirements. An entity must determine its compliance with all applicable requirements as defined in ISO 41001 Clause 1 before pursuing ISO 41001 certification. The following stage is to use internal auditing and external audit reports to demonstrate their performance in relation to those requirements. These reports are then submitted for approval by an accredited third-party auditor (for example, a member of ANSI/ASQC). The last step is to obtain ISO 41001 certification for your management system.
