Data Discrepancies in PF ECR: Can Unauthorized Uploads Lead to Manipulation?

ujjwalpatil999@gmail.com
Dear All HR Professionals,

One of our contractors has submitted their PF Challan along with the ECR and payment confirmation. Upon reviewing the documents, it appears that there are discrepancies in the supporting documents. The ECR files contain names of employees from other establishments as well. When we compare the list of our establishment employees from the ECR with the salary sheet, the salary PF amounts do not match.

Question on Data Manipulation:
My question in this regard is: Can someone upload the information on the site without approval, and then provide it to us for manipulation purposes?

Please provide clarification on this matter.

Regards, Mr. Ujjwal Patil

Contractors often manipulate processes to save significant amounts of money. Therefore, it is essential to verify the contractor's claims by selecting a sample of no less than 10% of the labor force and checking their PF contribution status online using their UAN. Take strict actions against the contractor for any violations, including recovering amounts from the bill. Make this a standard practice before approving each of the contractor's bills. Additionally, ensure that the contractor's establishment is periodically verified by the PF Inspector.

Considering all these issues, you may want to contemplate depositing PF directly in the contractor's name.
