Confused About Leaving Wipro During Training: Do I Owe Money If I Was Marked Absent?

nihal-ghosarwade
Mam, I left within 22 days of training and my bank details were not updated, so no salary was credited. I joined on 16th September for a 1-week virtual training and continued in the company until 14th October. On 14th October, I completed an online separation module in front of the master trainer.

Absconding and Payment Concerns

If they absconded me and I don't want any letter, do I have to pay? The earlier relieving date was 11/1/23. Today, I received an email stating that the last working date has been updated as 14th October 2022.

Inquiry and Resignation Confirmation

On 19th, I received an email regarding the inquiry letter, confirming awareness of my resignation dated 14th October. Please note that as per your appointment letter, we agreed at the time of joining.

Inquiry Officer's Findings

On 21st October, the finding of the Inquiry Officer is that the charge of unauthorized absence has been proved against you, and your conduct violates the company's policies. Due to your conduct, we have decided to initiate the process of separation from the company.

Envelopes and Payroll Confusion

I received 2 envelopes at my present address and 2 at my home address. In my Wipro portal, it shows IT proof submission income so far INR 20117. I do not understand what it is. The data reflects here per your last payroll.

Please reply; I am tense about the circumstances.

We do not work for Wipro, so it is unlikely any CITEHR members here can help you. This is a matter you need to negotiate directly with HR at Wipro and try to resolve the issue amicably.

They have sent you a notice asking you to confirm that you resigned (I assume you didn't bother to reply). They have sent you another letter informing you of disciplinary proceedings resulting in termination. Have they sent you any letter asking for payment of the notice pay? If not, what exactly are you worried about?

Sir, what is a resignation acceptance letter? Is it the final document? If so, why is the word "acceptance" included in the subject line? We have relieved you from your duties, and you do not need to clear any dues. Please write an email and obtain a letter.

Now, which letter are they referring to? They have also mentioned final settlement. How can I stop their post envelopes? It makes me feel anxious and pessimistic. I just want to confirm that after receiving the resignation letter, there is nothing left to worry about, correct?

I was only present for 20 days during the training.

You have not shared any of the documents and are quoting from random parts of them. Your wording is also chaotic, making it difficult for me to understand clearly. How do you expect someone to give an answer when you don't even share the full details?

Questions about Resignation and Documentation

Who has accepted your resignation, and what did they say? Did they mention you have no dues? Did they provide an F&F and Relieving letter, and what was the content of it?

Concerns about Short Tenure and Consequences

Do you think that just because you were there for only 20 days (and in the process wasted their time, efforts, as well as the fees they paid to the trainer for your training), you will go scot-free? You may want someone to tell you there is nothing to worry about, but is that the reality?

Advice on Legal Consultation

I suggest you talk to a lawyer if you think there is a problem, or just pick up the phone and speak to the HR who has sent you the letter. We, as outsiders, aren't the best persons to answer what their intent is.

Dear Nihal, This is of little consequence. It says that you intended to put a certain amount in various tax-saving schemes during the year. Based on that, the company computes your TDS for each month. If TDS turns out to be wrong due to the fact that you gave a wrong figure, WIPRO would be required to pay a penalty, so they say they will recover that from you. Since you left the job during the year, it would make little difference. But the company will always protect its interest, so it needs the declaration in that manner.

Sir, I joined on 16th September and quit using the online separation module, specifically the employee separation feature, on 14th October, even before completing the training. My bank details were never updated, and my salary was never credited.

Sir, could you please explain the following:

Income so far IT proof submission

20117 INR Employee separation

Income tax paid so far

0 INR KB/S LTE Proofs shared and validated No 4.80% 18

Note: The data presented here is based on your last processed payroll and is subject to change depending on the full and final settlement amount. You are required to submit proof of any exemptions you have sought under IT deductions. IT proofs should be submitted one day before your last working day. In the absence of these proofs, income tax will be deducted accordingly and adjusted in your full and final settlement. Your income tax will be adjusted based on the validation of your uploaded documents. Form 16 will be sent to your personal email as a soft copy after the financial year is closed. You can also raise a helpline ticket for any clarifications.

Sub: Resignation Acceptance Letter

With reference to correspondence dated 14th October 2022, we write to inform you that you are relieved from the services of the company. We remind you of your continued obligations of confidentiality as stated in your employment letter. Kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter.

Yours sincerely,

Authorized Signatory

Sir, is this the final resignation letter? I have already submitted company assets to the IT team and emailed many of them.

Declared Amount

7,443.00

Income so far: IT proof submission 20,117 INR

Sir, what is the meaning of these two amounts? Does it mean that the income so far is 20,117 INR and after deductions, the leftover amount is 7,443? Will the employee receive this amount?
