Struggling to Get a Relieving Letter After Leaving Without Notice – Need Advice!

Hi, I was working in a microfinance company, and due to some reasons, I resigned from the job without serving the notice period for the last 10 days. As a result, the company has marked me as absconded, making it difficult for me to secure a job in any other financial services sector. I have reached out to my HR department, expressing my willingness to either serve the notice period or pay the basic salary amount in order to obtain the relieving letter. However, I have not received any response from the company. I kindly request your assistance as I am struggling to find employment elsewhere. Please help me.

Hi, If the employer has already terminated your services, they will not consider your request for serving the notice period. However, what you can do is go and meet your HR, express your apology, and explain that you are willing to pay in lieu of the notice period. If they accept, pay and get the relieving letter.

If the above doesn't work out, you need to explain your situation to your new employer and request a job without a relieving letter. Some companies will consider it. But mostly, finance companies will give more importance to a proper relieving process as your role deals with money, and absconding without information may be viewed negatively.
