Confused About Internal Role Eligibility? Help Me Decode This Policy!

Anne.000
Hi everyone, could someone be so kind as to help me understand the following part of the internal recruitment policy?

Employee Eligibility for Internal Roles
"Employee is eligible to apply for other roles internally (locally) after 6 months of being in their current position post-probation period."

Would you say this means an employee is allowed to apply for other roles after 6 months (in total) of being in the current role, or 6 months after the probation period ends (so in total after 9 months if the probation period is 3 months)?

Thank you in advance.

Hi, it means that post-probation period, one should have served six months in the respective position.

During the probation period, you, as the employee, will work in your designated position. Upon the completion of your probation period, you will be eligible for a promotion, or your position will be confirmed.

If your probation is 3 months, only after 9 months can you apply for internal jobs. Remember that it's 6 months in a current position. Probation may not be in the same post, and there may be cases of employees being shifted by management for its reasons. You need 6 months in that position when not in probation.
