Rehired Employee's ESIC Date of Joining: How to Handle the 2-Month Gap?

Alur vaishnavi
Hi, I have doubts. The employee worked for 4 years and resigned for some reason. He has rejoined after 2 months, and his ESIC contribution is linked to his old ESIC number. What will be his Date of Joining (DOJ) in the ESIC portal?

Hi, while his ESI number will remain the same, his Date of Joining (DOJ) will reflect his most recent joining date and not the old one.

Ma'am, while inserting the same IP number, we are unable to update his Date of Joining (DOJ). It still reflects the old DOJ.

Is the date of actual joining automatically entered, or is the date 19/8/2022 entered by you? Typically, when an employee is registered in the system, it will prompt whether they are an existing member. If you select "Yes," then the date of joining needs to be entered manually. You can input the current date of joining. For instance, if the employee is rejoining today, you can enter 16-09-2022. If an old date appears, please escalate the issue to the ESI Technical team.

In the IP update, include the date of leaving and show rejoining on the same IP.
