Let me know if my understanding is correct. As per Section 16(c) and (e) of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishment Act of 2017, it is mandatory to provide compensatory leave and double wages if a worker is required to work on their weekly day off.
Compensatory Leave for Denied Weekly Holiday
If a worker is denied a weekly holiday, the compensatory leave in lieu thereof shall be given within two months of such weekly holiday. This means the employee can avail of their compensatory day off within two months.
