Can I Claim My Full Pension After 9.5 Years of Work? Seeking Clarity on Service Rounding

Gavin
Hi, I was employed from 10th Jan 2013 until 3rd June 2022 in two different companies, and it has been continuous employment. So technically, it is 9 years and 5 months of employment, and I have been unemployed for more than 60 days now. I just wanted to confirm if I can claim my full pension amount and if 9.5 years will be rounded up to 9 years or 10 years of service?

Hi, the pension amount cannot be withdrawn after 10 years of continuous service. It can be claimed as a monthly pension once you reach 58 years of age, or you can receive reduced pension benefits once you reach 50 years of age. In your case, the total years of service amount to 9.5 years, and therefore the pension can be withdrawn through the UAN login.

I did apply for a pension, but it got rejected for the following reasons, even though I was employed for 9.5 months.

Your Claim [Claim Id - XXXX] has been rejected due to:
1) YOU ARE REQUESTED TO SUBMIT FORM NO 19
2) NOT ELIGIBLE FOR WITHDRAWAL BENEFIT.

Please advise.

Gavin
Gavin
I mean 9 years and 5 months.

Gavin.

Hi, now physical claim forms are not accepted at the PF office, especially in Maharashtra. I am not sure if you were trying to withdraw only your pension. You can claim both at the same time through the online portal.

They may issue a Scheme certificate. You can claim a pension when you have completed 50 years.
