What leave protocol the hospital should have for consultant doctors both part-time and full-time. Is there any 'Govt. Act'?

Hello, I am a consultant doctor working in a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh. Over here, they are giving 15 days CL to the consultants working 8 hours, and 11 days to consultants working for 6 hours. No additional leaves are given, except for one weekly off and government holidays.

Leave Application and the 'Sandwich Rule'
When applying for leaves, the 'sandwich rule' is applied if a Sunday falls between two offs. Also, if you apply for a leave on Saturday and resume work on Monday, they will count Sunday as a leave (example: if I applied for leave on 6/08/2022 - Saturday, 7/08/2022 was a Sunday, and I came to work on 8/8/2022 - Monday --> they count 7/8/2022 as a leave).

Guidance on Leave Protocol
I need guidance on what leave protocol the hospital should have for consultant doctors, both part-time and full-time. Is there any 'Government Act' that I can refer to?

Please clarify the concept of 'consultant'. Do you mean they are not employees of the hospital but are on call and paid professional fees or per operation/patient fee? Or are they paid a share of fees collected from the patient?

If they are not employees, then all depends on the contract you sign with the hospital. If they are employees, then the Shop & Establishment Act and Standing Orders will apply, unless your state specifically excludes hospitals from the list.
