Hi Friends, I have started a Private Limited company. Can you suggest maternity and paternity policies that I should implement in line with government regulations? Please help me by sharing information.

Hi, Maternity leave is compulsory if your company falls under the purview of the Maternity Benefit Act. Paternity leave is not compulsory but optional at the discretion of the employer. For further information, please refer to the Act.

Mr. Ravi, the question you have asked needs to have proper background and perspective. I assume you know there is a Maternity Benefit Act in India. Are you asking about what other companies do, or are you asking something in relation to the act? Just the maternity policy cannot be taken in isolation. I hope you are setting up proper HR processes covering all aspects, not just the maternity policy.
