Employee Injury and Joining in the Same Month: How Do I Handle ESIC and Holiday Wages?

Maulin Suthar
Suppose an employee is injured in the month of May and is treated by ESIC. The pay slip for the month of May is requested from ESIC for holiday wages. However, the month of May is not over yet, and the employee also joined in May. What should I do in such a case?

An employee joined in May, and in the same month, he met with an accident and is under treatment under ESI. This is okay. Now the current month is July, and you are saying that the month of May is not over. What does it mean?

Accident Benefits and ESIC Form 32
In order to pay the accident benefits to the employee, the ESIC will ask for Form 32 (contribution record). In this form, you simply need to show what his daily wages (average salary) would have been if he had worked for the entire month. Please verify if the ESIC has requested this form (a specimen is attached) or if they require something else. There are three columns, and in your case, you are expected to fill in Column C.
