Hi all, I would really appreciate it if someone could guide me on how to create an HR Employee Engagement Budget. How to allocate funds for events and work around per-person budget allocation for the same.

Employee Engagement should not be confused with organizing sporadic events involving employees. Employee Engagement is to be seen as a continuous process aimed at fostering employee identification with the company, creating an emotional connection, and instilling a strong desire for the betterment of the organization.

If you can provide an approximate budget and the total number of personnel involved, the allocated amount can be distributed among various activities. However, if these activities are solely focused on socializing and lack a deeper engagement with employees, they cannot be considered as effective employee engagement initiatives.

Budget depends on the size of the organization, the number of people at various levels, and the types of engagements you want to initiate. Some activities can attract high monetary value, while others may not cost much. It is advisable not to introduce everything at once, as human tendency is to crave more! Be selective, mix tangible and intangible benefits, and involve employees and their families. Individual rewards, team rewards, meeting targets, achieving goals, celebrating anniversaries, pursuing higher education, and job-related external training all fall under employee engagement.

Best wishes,
