Minimum Wage in Maharashtra: Does It Apply to Government-Aided Schools?

Is the minimum wage applicable to government-aided schools in Maharashtra?

Anywhere in India, government-aided schools are following the State Education Department's guidance regarding pay scale, leave rules, etc. Nowadays, whether private or government-aided, schools are engaging contractual employees through contractors for positions such as sweepers, security, etc. In my opinion, those contractors are supposed to pay the minimum wages set by the State to the concerned employees and ensure compliance with PF and ESIC.

Government-aided schools are covered under the Minimum Wages Act, just like any other organization. They do not have any special dispensation.

Thank you.
