Letter Of Intent - candidate is requesting to change the date of joining by 1 day

Query regarding Date of Joining change

Recently, a candidate was offered a position on a consultant basis, and the Letter of Intent has been sent via email and acknowledged by the candidate. However, the candidate is now requesting to change the date of joining by one day, i.e., to the next day.

Please let me know the following queries:

1. Should we issue a new Letter of Intent with the new joining date?
2. Should we issue any other addendum to the existing Letter of Intent?

Kindly let me know how to record the change of date.

Awaiting the best response!

No need for a new letter of intent. If the request is from the candidate for postponement of joining by one day, ask him to email you. You may reply to that email stating that his request for a revised date of joining on ___ is accepted. The offer stands canceled if you fail to report on or before _______.
