If you are an existing member of PF, then contribution to PF is mandatory. On the other hand, if you are a fresher or were not covered by EPF in your earlier organisations, then it is not mandatory to be part of EPF if your salary (PF qualifying salary) exceeds Rs 15000 per month.

If the Basis+DA is above 15000/- PF can be deducted considering basic as 15000/- and not necessary to deduct pf on actual basic.
