Background Check Reveals Fake Documents: Should We Pay the Employee for 15 Days?

Sharma HR
A candidate joined us in the first week of June, and after 10 days, we discovered through a background verification report that this candidate submitted all fake documents from their previous employer (Offer Letter, Appointment letter, payslip, relieving letter, etc., with 5 years of experience) and never actually worked with that employer.

He attended our office for approximately 15 days. Kindly advise if he is eligible to receive 15 days' salary and probation notice pay salary as we have relieved him with immediate effect (as per our offer letter, either party can terminate the contract with 7 days' notice pay).

In our offer letter, a clause is mentioned that if your background verification fails, your employment will be canceled immediately.

Kindly advise on this matter.

As the employee submitted forged documents, termination of employment is justified. However, you are liable to pay 15 days' salary.
