There are a lot of threads already posted here on CiteHR on the consequences of fudging employment history and being dishonest with prospective new employers.

Just one act of dishonesty, if discovered during background checks, can have long lasting consequences on a person's career. One simple lie can be almost impossible to recover from.

Your friend needs to discuss his situation openly and honestly with the new employer, and negotiate a way through the problem. Hiding it under the carpet and lying will not fix it.

While joining a new company, in the absence of any service certificate to show the experience or service with the company the appointment order along with relieving letter will add value and PF details or IT returns (or Form 16) will not have any relevance. yes, when you submit that you have not been covered by PF in your earlier organisation, it could be a negative remark but it cannot be shouldered on the employee, ie, you. What is important is your skill and nothing else is that important. Therefore, you need not hide the experience of 2 years only because you did not have PF.
