Hi all, I need clarification for the query below: Mr. X has joined our organization and passed away after serving a two-month period (due to natural causes).

According to the company rule/system, it indicates the eligibility for gratuity for the remaining period until his retirement age.

Would he be eligible for gratuity? If so, could you please advise on the clause?

If the length of qualifying service is less than one year, gratuity to be paid is 2 times the basic salary, or 2 months of basic salary shall be paid as gratuity.
