Gratuity Applicability to deceased employee - joined in our organization and expired after serving two months period (natural death)

Hai All, I need clarification for below query: Mr. X is joined in our organization and expired after serving two months period (natural death).

As per the Company rule / System - it is showing the applicability of gratuity for the rest of the period i.e. till his retirement age.

Will he be applicable for Gratuity? If applicable could you please advise on the clause

If the length of qualifying service is less than one year: Gratuity to be paid is 2 times of basic salary or 2 months basic salary shall be paid against gratuity.

You should always give the full details of the problem and the background circumstances or you will get a wrong answer. Where is this requirement of paying gratuity till retirement? is your company having such a scheme? or is it an insurance that has been taken?

Please provide all required details.
